Odyssey 2 Prices Now Being Tracked

Odyssey 2 Console
We are now tracking prices for Odyssey 2 games and the Odyssey 2 console.

We have about 50 items in the Odyssey price list and almost all of them have prices so far, but more prices will be added as soon as we find them.

As always let us know if you don't see a particular Odyssey game that you think we should add.

What I see missing:

Alpine Skiing!
Bowling/Basketball!
P.T. Barnum's Acrobats!

Other than those three, the list of US releases is complete.

Thanks for letting us know about those missing games. I have added them to the list.

On a side note, what's with all the exclamation marks on Odyssey 2 games? Half the games end in "!" as their official title. Were all Odyssey 2 developers loud talkers?

Rumor is that anything published by the parent company Magnavox (or Philips) had exclamation points tacked on it as a kind of marketing tactic. So if the developer submitted a game called "Nap Time" they'd change it to "Nap Time!"

If your side note was rhetorical, I apologize.

@Reccos - I was saying it as a joke and funny observation, but it is good to know why that is. It is strange to me that Magnavox thought adding an exclamation point to every title would help with marketing some how.

I can see the consumer now "I'm not sure about 'NapTime!' but it has an exclamation point at the end, it must be good".

Or... "I'm not sure about 'Nap Time', but... 'Nap Time!', now there's a title we can use!".

Or maybe it was a ploy to get in with the whole 'cool to add "not" after everything' thing. || !.

To their credit, there are a few games without the exclamation point. Specifically, Showdown In 2100 A.D., Power Lords, both iMagic games, and the three Master Strategy games. For some reason The Quest For The Rings and Conquest Of The World have them on the game's label but not the box though.

Maybe Magnavox's example is one to be followed...."Video Game PriceCharts.com!".

(aside OT: finally, you enabled paste :D )

Anyway... bronze, user made, katamari 'atlas' figure. For sale too, he doesn't know how mcuh yet, over $200 though, I'm guessing min $500, then user interest will up that. Any ideas on how much one-off user made vg goods are worth? I may be tempted to offer on it myself...

you abandoned the blog.......

JJ Hendricks said...

@anonymous - I have not abandoned the blog. May has been a very busy month with some other VGPC things so I haven't been able to write blog articles as much though.

I will be writing some this week though and even doing a larger research type article too.

So, found two of these in the trash tonight. One is in its original box other isnt. One in the box works havent tried the other one yet. Also found box of 34 games. All but 3 are in their original boxes with booklets. Boxes look like they just came off the store shelf. Also found a speaker system thing that goes on the top of it. Have no use for these things. Anyone looking to take these off my hands and put some money in my pocket. Please email me at jobforahonky@yahoo.com

Is anyone actually looking to buy Odyssey2 The Voice system? I have the console, two joysticks, TV adapter and 22 games that I'm looking to sell. They don't seem to be moving on eBay. Any other sites to check out?
