Video Game Rarity Survey

We are trying to determine how gamers decide what is "rare" and what isn't. Is it the number of copies in existence, how often the item comes up for sale, the price, or a combination of all of these.

Please take our survey so we can see how people actually determine rarity. We'll publish the data as soon as we compile it and hopefully use it for some new features on PriceCharting.com

Thanks for sharing the data when you're done. I love that you make this kind of data publicly available for us all to see

There is a problem with this survey. Can't remember the exact numbers but how can you have 300 copies in existence and 500 currently up for sale online. By the time that this paradox happened twice I quit the survey. Improve the survey and I'll take it for real.

@anonymous - Thank you for letting us know about this. We realize some of the potential scenarios we asked about are unrealistic in the real world.

In order to see which variables people use when making their decision about "rarity" we needed to keep all the variables independent of each other in the survey. If we had done that we wouldn't be able to tell which variable actually was causing the rarity score given.

Sorry for any confusion and thank you for starting the survey.
