Nintendo World Championships On Pawn Stars

The most recent episode of Pawn Stars featured both Nintendo World Championships Gold and NWC Gray cartridges. The video is pretty bad quality, but the segment is entertaining.

The owner is Pat the NES Punk and the appraiser is the owner of Toy Shack, a vintage toy shop in downtown Las Vegas.

Pat asked $35,000 opened by asking $35,000 for the two cartridges. This was a reasonable opening offer because NWC Gold recently sold for $18,000 and NWC Gray sells for about $7,500. So combined they are worth about $25,000.

The pawn shop offered $15,000 for the two rare games, but Pat said he wouldn't take less than $32,000.

Like most high value items on Pawn Stars, it was definitely staged for the show and publicity for the owner. Pat helped expand the mystic surrounding the World Championship cartridges and maybe video game collecting in general. He also received a bit of publicity himself and had a chance to be on a popular cable TV show. I don't think he was looking to sell but I'm glad he went on the show.

Maybe thats why Nes/Snes games at the top nearly doubled recently. Earthbound and Evo are at around $200 now.

Too bad there was no Battletoads joke.

Toy Shack is a cool store. If any of you happen to be in Vegas, do check it out.

You should be pissed. I know it is rigged but it made you look like a idoit for your nwc gold buy. Show or not you paid to much idoit.

The only reason you would say that is if you and the toy shack guy are ass pounding each other an eating each other ass creampie because that store is just full of over priced broken shit.

For people who think Pat paid to much money for the NWC carts ,wait in a few years when retro gaming gets so expensive and such a high collectable field people will basically be taking out car loans just to own some of the more sought less rare titles.I paid almost 10K for my grey copy of NWC ,and I don't regret it .Especailly in light of how retro gaming is going in terms of increasing in value .

And I don't think it's right to call some idoit just because you don't agree with his purchase or his taste in collectables.

Yea and Beanie Babies will have a comeback. Stupid waste of money.

Pat is fucking lucky to have those games

Pat was right to turn down the $15,000 offer on PawnStars ,the grey cart alone can fetch almost that amount all by itself. The gold version (if it's a legit copy)can fetch over $20,000 epecially if it's graded .As much as I love the PawnStars show ,the toy expert is an idoit!I can't believe they would take that idoit's word over Pat's on the value of those carts ,because Pat is a well respected retro game collecter .That so-called expert is not a video game expect ,he's a vintage non-video game toy expert if you can even call him that.Thank God Pat didn't fold and take that low ball offer, although we all know he never intended to sell the carts anyway.

I think that it's really sad that there are this many people out there, who although they claim to be gamers--who usually are more intelligent than most people give them credit for, that do not know how to spell idiot. I agree that Pat is lucky for having the games, and that he was smart to turn down the offer for 15k, but I feel dumber for trying to read the posts on this page because they were posted by a bunch of idiots, or should I say "idoits"...lmao

lololol. but actually there's only one dumb piece of rabbit shit that is making the mistake of spelling idiot, idoit. and that is dream star
