The Guinness Book of World Records "largest video game collection" is up for sale on GameGavel.
Bidding is up to $750,000 for the roughly 11,000 games - $68 per game.
The collection is missing some of the most expensive titles like Nintendo World Championships, Stadium Events, Uncharted 2 Fortune Hunter Edition, and NBA Elite 11.
The price and lack of really rare games makes me think one of two things is happening.
1. The max bid is fake. That price is much too high for an average without rare games included.
2. Someone is willing to pay a very high price so they can claim to be in Guiness Book of World Records.
Hopefully the seller will let everyone know the final outcome so we know.
You can see a list of all the games with tons of photos, but they have complete collections for many consoles.
See some of the photos of the collection below but definitely checkout the panoramic shots. They give a great view of the entire collection.

Yeah price is kinda crazy high. Plus it seems odd that even though he claims selling for family reasons its awfully close to the same time that he's getting awarded the title by Guinness. What collector only puts a reserve on a collection if they are just selling for family instead of profit.
Imagine if the reserve wasn't met. Yeah mom I was asking for at least half a million for my video game collection and for some reason it didn't sell. I know I paid less than $10-$20 per game, sometimes nothing since I owned stores, but its the principle. I've got three copies of Doom for the Super Nintendo, that must count for something. Anyways it sucks your losing the house or can't pay for medical treatment. People just aren't realistic with their prices.
Guy gives off the Pat, the Nes, Punk vibe. Shows up in a bunch a publications just so he can say he's relevant. The first three paragraphs are just listing places his collection has been featured in. I'm surprised he hasn't shown up on Pawn Stars or made a youtube channel yet.
Sucks that the guy has do sell his collection. Still that's really high though.
It's a troll bid I'm sure.
trolled bids. However, I can't believe the price given the lack of rare high dollar games. Ego says I want to be in the guiness book of records, but financially wouldn't you say I can spend 750k on games that should appreciate in value.
Auction over. Now to see if he gets paid the $750,250.
Bid for this game collection is too high. All the games are superb which are involved in this games collection. I found many of new games title in this list which i never heard and play them. Really a good collection of games.
I hope he really has cancer or whatever and dies if he's trying to exploit illness to off his collection. How do we know all games work? And how do we know seller isn't selling empty boxes?
