Improvements to Card Scanning

We've added a bunch of card scanning (search by photo) improvements.

Major Accuracy Update for our Sports Cards Scanner

Providing accurate Sports Cards scanning is tough. There are tens of millions of cards and many of them only vary a little bit in color or holo effect.

We recently made a major overhaul to the way we scan Sports Cards that's resulted in a serious match rate improvement.

We show the correct card in the 1st or 2nd position 52% more often than before.

Improved Experience with Pack Ripping Tools

Users have asked us to adapt our Card Scanner to work seamlessly with pack-ripping tools. So we did.

In-app Card Scanner should now easily scan cards that are scanned using most types of pack breaking tools:

View scanned card parallels with one tap

Many trading cards and sports cards have multiple parallels - cards that have the same image but different colors or effects. We now let you change a scanned card's parallel with the tap of a button.

On the PriceCharting app simply touch the button below once a card has scanned, then choose the appropriate parallel - the card price will automatically adjust.

RESOLVED: Site Outage

3:23pm June 12, 2025 - Google says the impacted services have resumed full service. The site is running smoothly in all our tests.

2:08pm June 12, 2025 - Website is intermittently out again. Still Google Cloud outages.

1:05pm June 12, 2025 - Most website functions are working again. Some features are not working yet as Google works to resolve all their service outages.

12:42pm June 12, 2025 - Google Cloud is working to restore their services to 100%. Unfortunately the site will have intermittent problems until Google, our website restores everything on t heir end.

12:20pm June 12, 2025 - Google Cloud services are experiencing an outage that is impacting our site.

12:06pm June 12, 2025 - site is intermittently down. investigating.

Tennis, Golf, and Boxing Cards

We've added support for Tennis Cards, Golf Cards, and Boxing Cards.

You can now add those cards to your collections, find their values, and view sales history

The database is seeded with the most popular sets for each sport and some modern sets too. Sets include rookie cards for Venus Williams, Roger Federer, Tiger Woods, and more

The Android App is now available

We've finally launched our first iteration of the PriceCharting app on Android. We currently have all core features live including:

• Item pricing for all collectibles
• Sales history links
• Card Scanner
• Barcode Scanner
• Set browsing
• Wishlist
• Collection management tools

We also have all supported languages and currencies available.

More Android features to launch soon

This first Android app version doesn't include a handful of features that you currently see on our iOS app, but those will be included in our Spring Update:

• Notifications - for new sets and other app updates
• Subscription features - Deal Alerts, Grading Recs, Lot Value Calulator
